Speaking

Recently, I’ve done a number of keynote speeches and after making peace with the reality that nerves are part of the process, realize how much I enjoy sharing my ideas with others. Here’s what you can expect if you book me to give a talk:

Stories: As a former English teacher and lover of words, I believe deeply in the power of stories to reconnect us to timeless truths and help us make sense of the world and each other. 

Research: I enjoy the process of research, so whatever topic you want me to explore, I will be diligent about background research,  but be warned, I love to weave in scholarly research with pop culture references and anecdotal tidbits.

Engagement: I never want to feel like I’m talking to myself, so engaging the audience in either reflection or discussion is highly probable. 

Simplicity: I believe strongly that complex ideas can and should be made accessible, so if you enjoy lots of 6 syllable words crammed together in sentences, I may not be for you.
